Zusammenfassung

Kürzlich hat das European Scientific Counsel CompanionAnimal Parasites (ESCCAP) für deutsche Tierärzte/-innenin enger Zusammenarbeit mit der Deutschen VeterinärmedizinischenGesellschaft (DVG), dem BundesverbandPraktizierender Tierärzte (bpt), der Bundestierärztekammer(BTK) und der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Kleintiermedizin(DGK-DVG) eine konkrete Empfehlung zur Bekämpfungvon durch Vektoren übertragene Erkrankungen (VBDs)bei Hunden und Katzen herausgegeben. Die Empfehlungenthält die wichtigsten Fakten, die für in Deutschland praktizierendeTierärzte/-innen zu VBDs bei Hunden und Katzenrelevant sind. Ziel ist es, die Prophylaxe, Diagnostik undTherapie von VBDs in der Kleintierpraxis möglichst einfach,aber auch zielführend und sachgerecht zu gewährleisten.Folgende VDBs werden in der Empfehlung behandelt:

Babesiose (Piroplasmose)
Ehrlichiose, Anaplasmose, Borreliose
Leishmaniose
Dirofilariose und andere Filarien-Infektionen
Bartonellose

Recently the European Scientific Counsel Companion AnimalParasites (ESCCAP) in cooperation with the GermanVeterinary Medical Society (DVG), the German Associationof Veterinary Practitioners (bpt), the Federal Chamber ofVeterinary Surgeons (BTK) and the German Small AnimalVeterinary Association (DGK-DVG) published a detailedrecommendation for the control of vector-borne diseases(VBDs) in dogs and cats for veterinary practitioners. Thisrecommendationcovers the most important facts aboutVBDs in dogs and cats for vets in practice.
