Zusammenfassung
Kürzlich hat das European Scientific Counsel Companion Animal Parasites (ESCCAP) für deutsche Tierärzte/-innen in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der Deutschen Veterinärmedizinischen Gesellschaft (DVG), dem Bundesverband Praktizierender Tierärzte (bpt), der Bundestierärztekammer (BTK) und der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Kleintiermedizin (DGK-DVG) eine konkrete Empfehlung zur Bekämpfung von intestinalen Protozoen bei Hunden und Katzen herausgegeben. Die Empfehlung enthält die wichtigsten Fakten, die für in Deutschland praktizierende Tierärzte/-innen für die Bekämpfung intestinaler Protozoen bei Hunden und Katzen relevant sind. Ziel ist es, die Prophylaxe, Diagnostik und Therapie möglichst einfach, aber auch zielführend und sachgerecht zu gewährleisten. Folgende Protozoen werden in der Empfehlung behandelt:Giardia intestinalis

Summary
Recently the European Scientific Counsel Companion Animal Parasites (ESCCAP) in cooperation with the German Veterinary Medical Society (DVG), the German Association of Veterinary Practitioners (bpt), the Federal Chamber of Veterinary Surgeons (BTK) and the German Small Animal Veterinary Association (DGK-DVG) published a detailed recommendation for the control of intestinal protozoa in dogs and cats for veterinary practitioners. This recommendation covers the most important facts about control of intestinal protozoa for vets in practice. The aim is, to ensure a simple but competent guidance for prophylaxis, diagnostic and therapy in small animal practices.
