Zusammenfassung
Katzen als Patienten setzen nicht nur die Kenntnisse der Besonderheiten im Umgang mit dieser Tierart voraus, sondern ebenso das Wissen über morphologische Unterschiede zwischen Hunden und Katzen. In diesem Beitrag wird auf die sonografisch-morphologischen Besonderheiten einzelner abdominaler Organsysteme der Katze eingegangen. Im Mittelpunkt stehen v. a. die katzentypischen Krankheiten, die im Hinblick auf die sonografische Diagnosestellung vorgestellt werden, wie z. B. Harnwegserkrankungen (FLUTD), Cholangio-Hepatitis-Komplex und Lymphom.Summary
A cat cannot be compared with a small dog – even in abdominal ultrasonographic examinationCats as patients require not only special attention with regard to handling of this species but also a thorough understanding of their morphological differences compared to dogs. This article focuses on sonographical and morphological characteristics of the abdominal organs of the cat. Specific feline diseases are presented in context with their sonographic diagnosis, such as urinary tract disorders (FLUTD), the cholangio-hepatitis complex, and lymphoma.
