Zusammenfassung
Es wird die Diagnose eines Lungenwurmbefalls mittelsFeinnadelaspiration der Lunge bei zwei Katzen beschrieben.Die Katzen wurden mit hochgradiger Dyspnoe vorgestelltund waren daher nicht narkosefähig. Die Diagnosekonnte durch den zytologischen Nachweis von Wurmlarvenim Aspirat gestellt werden. Bei einem Patienten wurdeeine Kotuntersuchung zur Bestätigung der Diagnose durchgeführt.Nach symptomatischer Therapie trat bei beidenKatzen eine langsame Besserung des Allgemeinbefindensbis hin zur Symptomfreiheit ein.Summary
Diagnosis of Aelurostrongylus abstrusus infection by fineneedleaspiration of the lungs in two catsThis report describes the diagnosis of lungworms usingfine needle aspiration of the lungs in two cats. Both catswere presented with severe dyspnea and were unable toundergo general anaesthesia. The diagnosis was made bythe cytological demonstration of A. abstrusus larvae in theaspirate. The diagnosis was confirmed with a faecal examinationin one patient. Anthelmintic and symptomatic therapyresulted in a gradual improvement of the clinical statusin both patients until no symptoms were evident.
