Summary
A six-year-old Sphynx breeding cat was presented with acute haematuria, pollakisuria and periuria as well as with a left-sided inguinal space occupying lesion. According to the owner the inguinal mass had developed after parturition two years before. In the meantime, the cat had given birth to two more litters. Contrast radiographic examination by retrograde cystography revealed the urinary bladder to be located within the inguinal space occupying lesion outside the abdominal cavity. An inguinal hernia was diagnosed upon surgical exposure of the urinary bladder. A herniorrhaphy was performed without any complications. The cat was subsequently excluded from breeding.
