Summary
A 9-month-old male Labrador retriever was presented because of tracheal stridor and dysphagia. A low-grade inspiratory and expiratory tracheal stridor was audible during the physical examination. A laterolateral radiograph of the thorax revealed a round radiopaque structure that obstructed about two thirds of the tracheal lumen; this was confirmed by a CT scan of the thorax. The radiopaque obstruction was located at the level of the second and third thoracic vertebrae. A pale pink mass in the thoracic region of the trachea was detected during the subsequent endoscopy. The mass was then gradually detached with an endoscopic neodymium YAG laser. A histological analysis of the mass diagnosed a tracheal osteochondroma.
