Zusammenfassung
Es wird von einem Fall einer Thelazia callipaeda-Infektion im Auge eines Collie in Deutschland berichtet. Die Infektion trat nach einem Aufenthalt in Norditalien auf. Der Patient zeigte Blepharospasmus, purulente Konjunktivitis und Keratitis. Die lokale Behandlung mit Pilocarpin und systemische Behandlung mit Milbemycinoxim führte zur Ausheilung.Summary
Ocular thelaziasis in the dogA case of ocular thelaziasis (eyeworm) caused by Thelazia callipaeda in a three-year-old male Collie in Germany is reported. The patient suffered from blepharospasm, purulent conjunctivitis und keratitis. Local treatment with pilocarpine eye drops und systemic treatment with milbemycinoxim was successful in erasing the infection.
