Traumatic avulsion of the external ear canal in a cat: diagnostics and surgical reconstruction

Zusammenfassung
Ein sechsjähriger Europäisch Kurzhaarkater wurde mit einem kraniofazialen Trauma unbekannter Genese vorgestellt. Zur weiterführenden Untersuchung wurde unter anderem eine Computertomografie des Kopfes durchgeführt, welche neben diversen Schädelfrakturen einen einseitigen Gehörkanalabriss zeigte. Der Gehörkanal wurde anschließend chirurgisch rekonstruiert.
Summary
A six year old european shorthair cat was presented due to craniofacial trauma of unknown origin. Among other diagnostics computed tomography of the skull was performed and revealed multiple fractures of the skull as well as an avulsion of the left external ear canal. Primary repair of the ear canal was performed.
