Die Verblockung der Canini mithilfe von Methacrylaten ist in Adhäsivtechnik Standardmethode zur Ruhigstellung nach Kiefergelenksluxationen oder gelenknahen Frakturen. Sie setzt vier intakte Canini von ausreichender Länge voraus. Durch die Kombination mit Cerclagen um Unter- bzw. Oberkiefer erlauben die Draht-Komposit-Systeme sogar den Ersatz einzelner oder aller Canini. Sind die Canini noch funktionell, erlaubt die Drahtverstärkung in der Kunststoffverkleidung die Aufnahme höherer Kräfte, verbessert die Stabilität und vermeidet Reparaturen.
Summary
Interdental bonding of canines by using methacrylates is the standard method for immobilization after TMJ dislocations or fractures close to the joints. The technique requires four intact canini of sufficient length. In combination with cerclages around the lower and upper jaw, the wire composite systems even allow the replacement of one to all four canines. If the canines are still functional, the wire reinforcement within the methacrylates allows higher forces to be absorbed, improves stability and avoids repairs.
