Der traditionelle klinische Begriff der „Kropfentzündung“bei Psittaziden mit den Symptomen Regurgitationund Vomitus beinhaltet nicht nur eine Ingluvitis, sondern istSynonym für viele andere, infektiöse wie nicht infektiöse Problematiken.Diagnostisch ist ein Vomitus sowohl bei Sittichen alsauch bei Papageien eine Herausforderung und macht daher häufigdiverse weitergehende Untersuchungen notwendig (Röntgen,Ultraschall, Blutuntersuchungen, Erregernachweis). Erst die spezifischeDiagnose ermöglicht jedoch eine effektive Therapie. DieIndikationen für die Diagnostik ergeben sich aus Anamnese undKrankheitsverlauf.Summary
Regurgitation and vomiting in parakeetsand parrotsThe traditional clinical term “inflammation of the crop”found in psittacines showing regurgitation and vomiting is involvingnot only an ingluvitis but contains much more problems withinfectious as well as non infectious causes. Vomiting in parakeetsand parrots is a diagnostic challenge and often necessitates a fulldiagnostic investigation (x-ray, ultrasonic, blood chemistry, detectionof the agents) before a specific clinical and etiological diagnosiscan be made for an effective therapy. Case history as well as thecourse of disease have to be considered for choosing of adequatediagnostic procedures.
