Summary
A case report about the successful application of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) in a fourteen month old male, neutered German Pinscher suffering from a large area of skin loss secondary to deep wound infection in the perineal and scrotal area is described. NPWT was implemented to promote and accelerate formation of granulation tissue in the wound bed and to increase the odds of successful skin flap taking.
