Summary
A five-year-old neutered male Magyar Vizsla was presented to the veterinary clinic due to acute swelling of the dorsum of the nose. On special clinical examination, in addition to a moderate, diffuse, and coarse swelling on the bridge of the nose, a pinhead-sized opening at the junction of the nasal tip and the hairy skin was noticed. A computed tomography scan of the head revealed a suspected nasal dermoid cyst, which was subsequently surgically removed. The pathohistological examination confirmed the suspected diagnosis. The following case report documents the first description of a nasal dermoid cyst in a Magyar Vizsla and emphasizes the relevance of computed tomography as a diagnostic procedure.
