Granular cell tumours (granular cell myoblastomas) are rare benign tumours that can arise from neural and extra-neural structures. In the dog, extra-neural forms have only infrequently been reported in single case reports and can occur in various locations. The tongue and the eyelids appear to be predilection sites. In this report, the clinical, histological, and immunohistological characteristics of three canine cases of granular cell tumours are presented. Two of the tumours originated in the tongue; the third was located in the larynx. Following marginal surgical excision, all three patients remained tumour free. On immunohistochemistry, all three tumours were positive for vimentin, S-100 and NSE, but negative for GFAP.
