Die Diese Fallbeschreibung stellt zwei Hunde mit in die Nasenhöhleverlagerten Canini vor. Es handelt sich bei ektopenZähnen um ein seltenes Krankheitsbild beim Hund.Ein zweijähriger kastrierter Hovawartrüde und ein siebenjährigerintakter Mischlingsrüde wurden wegen chronischen,unilateralen Nasenausflusses überwiesen. Bei derUntersuchung der Maulhöhle fiel bei beiden Hunden auf,dass der rechte maxilläre Caninus fehlte. Eine Röntgenaufnahmedes Oberkiefers in Narkose zeigte die Verlagerungdes jeweiligen Zahnes in die Nasenhöhle. Der ektopeCaninus wurde bei beiden Rüden nach OP-Planung mittelsComputertomografie chirurgisch entfernt. Eine postoperativeUntersuchung zwei Wochen später ergab einenkomplikationslosen Heilungsverlauf sowie Symptomfreiheitbeider Hunde.Summary
Ectopic intranasal canine tooth impaction in the dog:two case reportsThe purpose of this paper is to present two cases of intranasalcanine tooth impaction, considered a rarity in dogs.A two-year-old castrated male Hovawart and a seven-yearoldintact male crossbreed dog were referred to the animalhospital with a history of chronic unilateral nasal discharge.Oral examination revealed that the right canine tooth wasmissing in both dogs. Both dogs were anaesthetised toallow dental radiography. A diagnosis of upper right caninetooth impaction in the nasal cavity was made. The impactedcanine tooth of each dog was removed, following surgicalexploration of the area. Postoperative examination twoweeks post surgery indicated resolution of the clinical signsand an uncomplicated healing of the extraction site in eachof the animals..
