Zusammenfassung<\/span>
Im Rahmen der antibakteriellen Therapie des Pferdes sind Pr\u00e4parate aus den Gruppen der Aminoglykoside, Beta-Laktam-Antibiotika sowie der Sulfonamide zugelassen. Zudem spielt bei der Rhodococcus equi-Infektion des Fohlens die Gruppe der Makrolid-Antibiotika eine entscheidende Rolle. Alle diese Wirkstoffgruppen unterschieden sich nicht nur hinsichtlich ihres Wirkungsspektrums oder ihrer Resistenzentwicklung, sondern auch in der Pharmakokinetik beim Pferd und sollten daher mit R\u00fccksicht auf die Pharmakokinetik beim Pferd nach Erstellung eines Antibiogramms entsprechend der zu behandelnden Infektion eingesetzt werden.<\/p>

Summary<\/span>
Drugs licensed for the antimicrobial therapy in the horse are members of aminoglycosides, beta-lactam antibiotics or sulfonamides. Additionally, macrolides are of some significance due to their frequent use for the treatment of Rhodococcus equi-infections in foals. The used antimicrobials do not only differ in their spectrum of activity against bacteria or in possible development of resistance but also in their pharmacokinetic behavior in horses. Thus, the choice of the adequate antimicrobial agent should be made based on the result of the resistance test as well as the pharmacokinetic behavior in the horse, which might additionally depend on the kind of infection treated. <\/p>
