Comparable to previously conducted phenotypical and genotypical investigations(Hijazin et al., 2011c), three strains of the newly described speciesActinomyces weissii, isolated from infections of the oral cavity of three dogs couldbe classified by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight massspectrometry and by sequencing the target genes 23S rDNA and cpn60 as novelspecies of genus Actinomyces. The detection of peptidic spectra and both genotypicapproaches might help to identify A. weissii in future and elucidate the rolethis species plays in infections of dogs.

In den vorliegenden Untersuchungen konnten drei St\u00e4mme der SpeziesActinomyces weissii, isoliert von Infektionen der Maulh\u00f6hle von drei Hunden,durch Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionisation-Time of Flight Massenspektrometrieund durch Sequenzierung der Zielgene 23S rDNA und cpn60 als neueSpezies der Gattung Actinomyces identifiziert werden. Dieses Ergebnis stimmtemit bereits durchgef\u00fchrten ph\u00e4notypischen und genotypischen Untersuchungen(Hijazin et al., 2011c) \u00fcberein. Der Nachweis von Peptidspektren und die Anwendungder beiden genotypischen Verfahren wird eine Identifizierung von A. weissiiin Zukunft erleichtern und dazu beitragen, die Rolle dieser Spezies bei Infektionenvon Hunden zu verstehen.
