Die Zubildung zeigte histologisch ein invasives Wachstum in die Lamina propria und die Submucosa sowie Ulzerationen des Pansenepithels und segmentalen Verlust der inneren Tunica muscularis. Sie bestand aus in B\u00fcndeln angeordneten pleomorphen Spindelzellen. Au\u00dferdem fanden sich Areale mit Blutungen, Nekrosen und mikrozystischen Ver\u00e4nderungen sowie deutliche Anisokaryose, Riesenzellen und an verschiedenen Stellen atypische Mitosefiguren. Immunhistochemisch waren in dem Tumor Alpha-Aktin der glatten Muskulatur, Desmin und Vimentin nachweisbar. Anhand der genannten Befunde wurde ein Leiomyosarkom des Pansens diagnostiziert.
